Pneumatic & Hydraulic Sheetlines
Sheetlines
Technical Highlights
- Custom-built to your width and thruput requirements
- Wide range of unique production and process control features
- Downstack, upstack, and angled configurations
Sheetlines are designed in a variety of styles, from the basic straight three-roll stack design to an inclined design for materials with lower melt strength. Whatever your processing needs, we can design and manufacture a sheetline to meet your most challenging production requirements.

Marshall and Williams Plastics sheetlines employ either pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders for optimum nip pressure. We also utilize our straddling pivot arm design to minimize roll deflection resulting from high nip forces. Hydraulic or mechanically actuated gap adjusters are available to control the roll gaps.
All heat transfer rolls are double shell with spiral baffle, and internal flow design which maintains superior temperature uniformity and heat transfer capacity across the width of the web. The rolls are temperature controlled by circulating water or oil from our integrated heat transfer systems. Depending on the material and on the particular process, sheetlines may also be equipped with auxiliary cooling features.
A typical sheetline also includes a conveyor section, optional gauging system, and an edge trim/pull roll station, which maintains web tension and trims the edges from the sheet.
The finished web is then typically wound on a Parkinson Technologies Automatic Turret Winder or fed directly into an in-line thermoformer.
