Parkinson Technologies’ Marshall and Williams Division to Supply Complete Equipment Line to Produce Russia’s Highest Quality BOPS

Marshall and Williams Plastics, a division of Rhode Island based Parkinson Technologies Inc., has been selected to provide a 15,000 metric ton per year BOPS production line by a joint venture led by Russia’s Marta Holding, a diversified conglomerate, and OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim (OAO NKNH), one of the largest producers of polystyrene resins in Russia. 

With its equipment producing over two-thirds of the world’s biaxially oriented polystyrene (BOPS) sheet and film, Marshall and Williams was chosen based on its industry-leading technology for high-output production equipment that yields the world’s highest quality BOPS products.  

Peter Termyn, Parkinson’s Director of Sales & Marketing commented, “This is an exciting project that will set the standard in Russia for high-technology BOPS equipment.  We are delighted to work with entrepreneurial market leaders such as Marta Holding and NKNH.”

Georgiy Trefilov, President of Marta Holding expressed, “The [Marta and OAO NKNH] joint venture will produce high-quality BOPS with minimum expenditures, making possible for it to attain the leading position in the market for thermo-formed material.” 

The high-output line will be installed in Elabuga City, Tatarstan, in close proximity to NKNH’s polystyrene production facility.  According to Vladimir Busygin, Director-General of OAO NKNH, “The project has obtained the approval of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan, and this confirms once more that it has great significance not only for our enterprise, but also for the industry as a whole.”  Installation and commissioning is targeted for mid-2006.
