Marshall and Williams Plastics Adds Twin Screw Extruder to its Lab/Pilot Line Facility

Marshall and Williams Plastics, a division of Parkinson Technologies Inc., recently added a new Leistritz twin screw extruder to its Lab/Pilot Line Facility.  This is in addition to the existing four single screw extruders with a total capability of casting five layers.  Use of the twin screw extruder will allow customers to compound and cast in-line at one facility.  The benefit of compounding in-line versus off-line is the production of a higher quality material with a more controlled process at a reduced cost.

Parkinson is a leading designer and manufacturer of large-scale web-handling, winding and plastics processing equipment.  With a world-class pilot plant facility, Parkinson offers complete flexibility for plastics sheet/film extrusion and orientation R&D.  The pilot plant is actively used by resin manufacturers and material processors to conduct product development programs and produce marketing samples for a broad array of materials.
