Sales Engineer
Parkinson Technologies Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of large-scale winding, web-handling and plastics processing equipment, has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer. The individual will report to the Manager of Sales Engineering and will be responsible for assessing product application requirements, developing sales proposals and conducting various inside sales and product management activities in support of the sales process.
Principal Responsibilities

Work with customers, Sales Managers, engineering personnel and suppliers to select or develop equipment and technology solutions consistent with customer requirements

Generate cost and price analyses and develop written sales proposals and concept drawings that effectively describe equipment and technology solutions and conditions of sale

Manage sales engineering administration activities, including the order entry process, equipment specification confirmation, change-orders and coordination of machine testing

Develop long term working relationships with customers by joining Sales Managers on sales calls and supporting the sales process be developing and presenting product presentations

Participate in product development, product management and marketing activities
Functional Skills
-
Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines must be supported by demonstrated experience with machinery or process environments

Work Experience: 1-5 years experience in design, manufacture or technical sales of machinery or application of machinery in process environments; specific involvement in web handling and plastics processing is highly favorable

Computer Skills: Strong skills with Microsoft Office software suite in addition to having good capabilities or potential with 2D (Cadra or AutoCAD) and preferably 3D (SolidWorks) design software

Excellent writing and speaking skills as demonstrated by the ability to communicate confidently and concisely, both personally and on behalf of the company

Very good conceptual design skills as demonstrated by the ability to translate complex process requirements into machinery and technology solutions

Strong work ethic with the initiative, energy and interpersonal skills necessary to achieve defined objectives, both individually and collaboratively

Ability and desire to attain the business acumen necessary to achieve an increasingly deeper understanding of the company, its products and the industry

Excellent organizational skills with the ability and desire to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines without a high degree of manager involvement
