Parkinson Technologies, Inc. Building

For over 100 years, Parkinson Technologies has maintained a reputation for innovation and reliability. Evolving from a leading textile machinery designer to an industry leader in the manufacturing of winding and web handling equipment for the nonwovens, plastics and paper industries, Parkinson continues to take innovative approaches backed by demonstrated success and engineering excellence.

Parkinson's 100,000 square foot facility located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island USA houses all manufacturing and assembly operations in addition to all Engineering, Sales and Marketing activities. Parkinson is only one of a handful of global designers in the industry that does not outsource its key manufacturing and assembly operations.

Parkinson's broad range of custom engineered equipment includes individual winders, unwinds, slitter/rewinders, complete plastics production lines and individual processing and orientation machines (i.e. MDOs, TDOs, sheetlines, etc.). Parkinson's headquarters located in Woonsocket, RI maintains and operates three state-of-the-art laboratories for testing winding and web handling capabilities, plastics orientation, and melt filtration.

In March 2005, Parkinson proudly received certification for the ISO 9001:2000 Standard. The certification applies to all areas of Parkinson's operations and products.

Plant

Before its purchase in 2000, Marshall and Williams Plastics was owned and operated by Marshall and Williams Company now located in South Carolina. As a part of Marshall and Williams Company, the Plastics Division established itself as a worldwide leader in building custom engineered equipment for the production of cast and oriented film. Founded in 1920, Marshall and Williams built tenter frames for the textile industry and was the first Machine Direction Orientation system (MDO). Now a product brand within Parkinson Technologies, Marshall and Williams Plastics continues to serve the plastics industry with new equipment and innovative concepts. Approximately two-thirds for the world's production of biaxially-oriented polystyrene (BOPS) is produced on Marshall and Williams plastics lines. The world-class pilot lab and all Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Production activities are housed at Parkinson's headquarters in Woonsocket, RI USA. In addition, a full-time sales and service center in located in Asia offering customers prompt and professional response to service and spare parts in the region.

Experience, Innovation, Engineered Solutions

With a world-class pilot plant facility, Parkinson offers its customers complete flexibility to conduct plastics sheet/film extrusion and orientation R&D and to produce commercially viable marketing samples. It is in this lab where many of the industry's most creative products get their start. Parkinson's customers include a broad range of companies, from venture-backed startups to Fortune 50 enterprises, all of whom demand innovative solutions to their web processing challenges.
