Parkinson Technologies Inc.

For over 100 years, Parkinson Technologies has maintained a reputation for innovation and reliability.  Evolving from a leading textile manufacturing center to an industry leader in the manufacturing of winding and web handling equipment for the nonwovens, plastics and paper industries, Parkinson continues to take innovative approaches backed by demonstrated success and engineering excellence.

Parkinson Technologies, Inc. Building

Parkinson’s new 100,000 square foot facility located in Woonsocket, RI, houses all manufacturing and assembly operations in addition to all Engineering, Sales and Marketing activities.  Parkinson is only one of a handful of global designers in the industry that does not outsource its key manufacturing and assembly operations.

Parkinson’s broad range of custom engineered equipment includes individual winders, unwinds, and auxiliary equipment, complete plastics production lines and individual processing and orientation machines (i.e MDOs, TDOs, sheetlines, etc.) .  Parkinson also operates two state-of-the-art laboratories for testing winding and web handling capabilities and plastics orientation, both housed at the headquarters located in Woonsocket, RI.  The Key Filters melt filtration lab also operates from Woonsocket, RI.

In March 2005, Parkinson received certification for the ISO 9001:2000 Standard.  The certification applies to all areas of Parkinson’s operations, including its Marshall and Williams products.

PlantBefore its purchase in 2000, Marshall and Williams Plastics was owned and operated by Marshall and Williams Company now located in South Carolina

As a part of Marshall and Williams Company, the Plastics Division established itself as a worldwide leader in building customer engineered equipment for the production of cast and oriented film.  Founded in 1920, Marshall and Williams built tenter frames for the textile industry and was the first to adapt this technology to orient plastic film and sheet, and in 1961 M&W built the first Machine Direction Orienter (MDO).

Now a product brand within Parkinson Technologies, Marshall and Williams Plastics continues to serve the plastics industry with new equipment and innovative concepts.   Approximately two-thirds of the world’s production of BOPS is produced on Marshall and Williams Plastics lines. The world-class pilot lab and all Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Production activities are housed at Parkinson’s headquarters in Woonsocket, RI USA.  In addition, a full-time sales and service center is located in Asia offering customers prompt and professional response to service and spare parts in the region.

With its purchase of Marshall and Williams Plastics in 2000 and affiliation with Key Filters Inc., Parkinson Technologies has established a leading presence in the plastics industry.
